RELIEF PROJECT FOR IDPs
Egwuma Community, Agatu LGA,
Benue State
June 2025
Since 2024, the Egwuma Community has survived through eight consecutive attacks by Fulani herdsmen. During the campaign of terror, 49 people died, 70 houses were burnt down, and 40 women were widowed. Defenseless and overwhelmed by the intensity of the onslaught, the surviving residents abandoned their homeland. They fled to another town, Ogwule, in the Agatu LGA of Benue State.
Today, the people are officially IDPs.
Below is the record of the attacks on the Egwuma community:
• 250 households affected
• 49 people murdered
• 3 critically injured victims
• 40 widows
Following their flight from their ancestral lands, peace existed in the area, which suggests that the aggressors aimed to displace the natives.
Efforts shall continue to minister relief and succour to the victims of these barbaric crimes. The solution, however, lies in the concerted outcry of Nigerians. The country must be renegotiated so that vulnerable communities can defend themselves.
We thank all the brethren who support these efforts to minister relief to the persecuted Christians. God bless you and replenish you abundantly.
Please join us in sharing these reports so that more people can participate in helping and succouring persecuted Christians in Nigeria.
God bless you.
Your brother in Christ,
Bosun
